We are a group of people of different ages who enjoy living in nature. We seek an alternative solution to the current pattern of social progress that brings us closer to the earth and its rhythms, underpinned by ethics in our use of and relationships with it, with resources, animals, constructions and infrastructures.
The “Iscles Association” emerged in 2012, driven by the desire, affinity and enthusiasm to live in a sustainable human environment, based on a policy of consensus in decision-making and close collaboration in all areas among the members of the group.
We are working with joy to rebuild and create this space, so that our village, Iscles, will be a centre of coexistence, health and development. A haven of peace where the transmission and exchange of traditional knowledge and other multiple wisdoms is possible.
We conceive the community not as an end in itself but as a means of creation and evolution, through human relations and coexistence, full, supportive and capable of generating a healthy society.
To strive for sustainability, learning to be in balance with our environment and the planet, taking care of the Earth and its resources that will one day be passed on to future generations.
We want to foster the transition of our Culture towards a world that develops societies capable of caring for Life.
After years of experience building with natural and local materials, we have opened our doors and in 2019 we have started to share our knowledge through weekend courses, which are held in our village, Iscles.
The construction courses are carried out in collaboration with the bio-construction cooperative Okambuva (Sagunto), and within the programme of the Master in Bio-construction Project Management given by this cooperative.
The teaching team is made up of all the members of the Iscles Association, which is a multidisciplinary group, covering the areas of construction, architecture, engineering, art, nutrition, pedagogy, health, Chinese medicine, anthropology, Taichi and Qi Gong… We will also have collaborators in subjects such as geology, dowsing and traditional construction to make the content of the courses more complete and interesting.
