Course description

Learn how to identify and collect powerful medicinal plants in your area, and create simple, useful and high quality medicinal cosmetic products from them.

Content

  • Identification and care of Mediterranean and pre-Pyrenean medicinal plants.
  • Collection, drying and storage of medicinal plants according to lunar phases.
  • Production of vegetable oils.
  • Production of plant extracts and tinctures.
  • Preparation of creams with different consistencies based on previously prepared oils and extracts.

  • Pain relief ointment with cannabis and rosemary
  • Healing cream for children with calendula oil, plantain juice and aloe vera pulp.
  • Light hand cream with olive oil, almond oil and calendula extract

Course development

We will walk through fields and living forests, free of pesticides and herbicides, to collect endemic and introduced species that are easy to recognise and tend. We will learn how to extract the active principles of each plant according to its biochemical composition in oils and extracts, giving rise to different cosmetic products for the home medicine cabinet and daily care. We will use organic ingredients and glass and wooden containers. You will be able to take each of the products we make with you.

Nutritionist specialising in natural cosmetics and medicinal plants. Resident of the Iscles project, with a deep interest in the protection of the environment and the recovery of the ancestral medicine of these territories.

Day One

Morning

9:00 - 13:00h

  • Recognition, collection and storage of medicinal plants according to lunar phases.
  • Preparation of plant extracts.
  • Extraction of pure plantain and Aloe Vera juice.

Afternoon

16:00 - 18:00h

  • Production of vegetable oils.
  • Cannabis, how to extract its medicine.

Day Two

Morning

9:00 - 13:00h

Making pain cream with cannabis and rosemary

Afternoon

16:00 - 18:00h

Production of light healing and protective cream with calendula, aloe vera and plantain for children.

Day Three

Morning

9:00 - 13:00h

Hand cream with olive, almond and calendula. Delivery of a digital dossier with recipes and information seen during the course.

Afternoon

13:00 - 17:00h

The course

The participation fee for the course is

200,- €

Accommodation and Meals

The price of meals is €25 per day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. The food used during the course is predominantly organic. Accommodation can be in a shared room, teepee or single tent with bed (€10/night) or free camping with use of shower and dry toilet (€3/night).
