Historical Introduction to joinery
Horizontal and vertical trusses.
Criteria for the design of reinforcement.
Roof armouring: Octogonal armouring
Wood: Types of wood, sawn timber, roundwood, laminated timber
Commissioning
Drawing: Interpretation of the drawings of an armouring
Layout methods for sawnwood and roundwood
The Carpenter’s Tools
The Cuts. Joints, splices and couplings.
Carpenters’ tools: hand tools and power tools

práctica

Realisation of a vertical lattice.
Construction of a portico with sawn timber.
Realisation of an octagonal trussed ceiling
Construction of a horizontal slab with wooden logs.
Layout, execution of cuts and joints. Assembly.

During the weekend, there will be the possibility of additional on-site training.

Theory will be taught in each phase before the practical work: approx. 1.5 h each day.

Desarrollo del Curso

In order to offer a more dynamic experience, the practical part of the course will take place in the mornings, leaving the afternoons to deal with theoretical aspects, didactic excursions, discussion and the sharing of practical cases.

325,- € / Semana

El Alojamiento y Comidas

The price of food is 25€ per day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper, all prepared with love and mostly from our own gardens. Accommodation can be in a shared room, teepee or single tent with bed (€10/night) or free camping with use of shower and dry toilet (€3/night). Fees for accommodation and meals are to be paid in cash at the beginning of the course.
